5-30-23   THOUGHTS

God wants us to be wise as we walk this earth and live in this difficult world.  God’s wisdom is spiritual wisdom.  It tells us how to live in relationship with Himself.  His wisdom doesn’t change the circumstances of life, it helps us deal with them and grow in the process.  Thus the test of our faith gives rise to growth, if we allow.  God gives us wisdom but we must ask and seek it.  The conditions are in faith, no doubting, no double-mindedness.  We are to be ALL IN!   Shakespeare’s line says “Ay, there’s the rub.”  Our failure to be ALL IN brings us unstableness.  Let us seek God’s wisdom in faith, NOTHING DOUBTING!

Jas 1:2-12   Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3  knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4  And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. 5  But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6  But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.  7  For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, 8  being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. 9  But the brother of humble circumstances is to glory in his high position;  10  and the rich man is to glory in his humiliation, because like flowering grass he will pass away. 11  For the sun rises with a scorching wind and withers the grass; and its flower falls off and the beauty of its appearance is destroyed; so too the rich man in the midst of his pursuits will fade away. 12  Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
Eph 5:13-17    But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light.  14  For this reason it says, "Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine on you." 15  Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, 16  making the most of your time, because the days are evil. 17  So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

My Prayer:
Lord, we pray for ears to hear Your wisdom.  Open our hearts and awaken our minds to the wonders You desire for us.  May we abide in You and You in us.  Guide us to a closer walk with You.  Take away all doubt from us. Remove all love for the things of this world.  Help us to die to self that we might truly live for You, O Father.  Help us to be good sheep, ever listening to the voice of the Good Shepherd.  May we seek You powerfully, and find You.   In the name of our Savior,          Amen.
